In Prohibit, artists Ernesto Muñiz and Àlex Mañé construct a visual inquiry into the increasingly delicate boundary between freedom of expression and censorship. Through the critical language of collage, both artists examine how prohibition, whether overt or covert, shapes our desires, our discourse, and the way we interpret the world.
The exhibition begins with a shared premise: a society reveals its true foundations through what it chooses to silence.
Where does freedom of expression end and censorship begin? In their first joint presentation, Muñiz and Mañé offer a profound aesthetic and political reflection on the urgent need to safeguard the freedom to think, speak, and create. Ultimately, Prohibit is an invitation to question the limits imposed upon us and to reclaim the profoundly human right to transgress them.
